MANUFACTURERS’ MONTHLY ENDEAVOUR AWARDS INFORMATION

Manufacturers’ Monthly’s Endeavour Awards Program is now into its seventh year! The Endeavours recognise the essential role manufacturing plays in Australia’s economy and is the only national awards program specifically for Australia’s manufacturing industry.

Brought to you by Australia’s leading magazine for the manufacturing industry, Manufacturers’ Monthly, the Endeavour Awards celebrate and recognise the achievements of industry leaders in their drive to achieve ‘best practice’ manufacturing.

About the Awards

Twelve awards will be presented in the 2010 Manufacturers’ Monthly Endeavour Awards Program.

Business Process - These awards recognise outstanding process improvements or business achievements in a manufacturing company. Six awards will be presented in the Business Process section:

  • Technology Application of the Year Award is for highly successful applications of new technology in new or existing manufacturing processes.
  • Environmental Solution of the Year Award is for outstanding implementations of solutions to reduce the environmental impact of a new or existing manufacturing operation.
  • Safety Scheme of the Year Award rewards manufacturers for outstanding implementations of schemes to improve safety in new or existing manufacturing operations.
  • Exporter of the Year Award recognises excellence in entering or developing an export market with a new or existing manufactured product.
  • Global Integration Award recognises manufacturers who have successfully engaged in international supply chains.
  • Enterprise Connect Significant Achievement Award (new for 2010) recognises manufacturers who have made a significant achievement in productivity, competitiveness or innovative capability since completing their Enterprise Connect Business Review and Tailored Advisory Service project(s). (This award is for Enterprise Connect clients only.)

(Please note the above categories are for manufacturers’ application of product, not product on its own.)

Manufactured Product - Three awards will be presented for new Australian made products in this section:

  • Australian Consumer/Trade Product of the Year Award isfor creative and innovative products, or products which significantly improve on existing designs for use by consumers/trades.
  • Australian Industrial Product of the Year Award isfor creative new products, or products which significantly improve on existing designs for use by industry.
  • Australian Steel Innovative Award applies to products or projects using Australian-made steel that demonstrates creativity, innovation and delivers value and competitive advantages to users.

Manufacturer of the Year Award - One overall winner will be selected from the categories above and will be awarded Manufacturer of the Year 2010. All nominations in the above areas are automatically entered for the Manufacturer of the Year Award.

Young Manufacturer of the Year - This award recognises the elite members of Australia’s next generation of manufacturers. The award will be presented to a person 32 years of age or under, who has made an outstanding contribution to his or her company, and to the wider manufacturing community.

Lifetime Achievement Award (new for 2010 )- The Lifetime Achievement Award recognises an individual from a manufacturing company who has made an outstanding personal contribution to his or her manufacturing business and the wider manufacturing community. This award will be presented to a person who has been in the manufacturing industry for a minimum of 25 years, and in a senior position for a minimum of 10 years.

WHY ENTER?
As an Australian manufacturer, nominating for a Manufacturers’ Monthly Endeavour Award is an excellent way of recognising the efforts and achievements of employees and to celebrate their success.

These achievements will also be acknowledged with over $31,000 worth of prizes to be won.

All finalists will receive two complimentary tickets (valued at $150 each) to the prestigious awards presentation gala dinner to be held May 12, 2010 in Sydney.

Finalists and winners will receive extensive publicity in Manufacturers’ Monthly, on the magazine’s website, as well as through other media outlets.

Plus all winners will receive $3500 worth of marketing services, including $2500 worth of advertising in Manufacturers’ Monthly, plus $1000 worth of PR by WriteRelease.

You will be also be able to use the Manufacturers’ Monthly Endeavour awards logo in a wide range of promotional activities including in your advertising, trade show graphics, product literature and on your website.

As an applicant, you’ll be joining a prestigious group of leading manufacturers, working to achieve best practice and excel in an ever competitive global market.

ARE YOU ELIGIBILE TO ENTER?
The Awards are open to all companies, irrespective of size, who have a significant manufacturing presence in Australia and have been operating for at least two years. (Manufacturing can be defined as “the working of raw or processed material which produces a useful purpose or service”.)

Awards in the 2010 Business Process and Manufactured Product sections are open to Australian-made products, applications, solutions and schemes introduced/released after January 1, 2009. All companies entering awards in these sections are automatically entered for the Manufacturer of the Year award.

Entrants in the Enterprise Connect Significant Achievement Award must be an Enterprise Connect client.

Entrants in the Young Manufacturer of the Year category must be under 32 years of age on or before the Endeavour Awards closing date (January 29, 2010), and must have been employed by the company at least six months prior to the closing date.

Entrants in the Lifetime Achievement Award must have been in the manufacturing industry for a minimum of 25 years, and in a senior position for a minimum of 10 years

Nominations may be submitted by anyone representing a manufacturing company in Australia; however that person must be in a position to properly evaluate the submission.

ENTRY IS FREE

FINALIST SELECTION
Judging will be conducted by a panel of experts composed of leaders from industry, research and academia.

No correspondence with the judges is allowed.

Note that special arrangements can be made with the judging panel if particular confidentiality requirements are considered necessary for business purposes.

There will be a winner and at least one highly commended (except Lifetime Achievement Award) in each category.

Winners will be presented with their award at a gala dinner to be held May 12, 2010 in Sydney.

Finalists will be announced in the April issue of Manufacturers’ Monthly (except Lifetime Achievement Award), with the category winners, highly commended and the overall winner announced in the June issue.

 

SUBMITTING A NOMINATION
Nominations for Manufacturers’ Monthly Endeavour Awards may be submitted by anyone representing a group or company in Australia who is in a position to evaluate the entry.

Each company may submit a maximum of three nominations.

Each nomination must include a completed entry form, addressing each question in the award category being entered.

Up to six (6) colour photos of the product or technology (300 dpi jpeg) may also be submitted as part of the entry. Photographs of the product in use are preferred to promotional images.
